Network Management Tools Engineer

Job Responsibilities The candidate should exhibit experience in gathering and interpreting requirements received from the network or communications technology SME's and business management within managed services and either utilize inherent capabilities of the network and systems management tools available, or effectively devise, test and implement scripts or code, using languages at their disposal in a secure, scalable, and well documented way to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of the managed services business. This position entails communication of the capabilities of both the out-of-the-box features of the network and systems management tools or custom scripting possibilities to managed services business management in order to assist in the development of service enhancements to improve the value proposition of managed services to the marketplace.
Experience/Qualifications Requirements The successful candidate must have demonstrated strong experience with: • Netcool objectserver, webtop and probe installation, integration and administration • Netcool custom report creation • netIQ AppManager installation, integration and administration • netIQ Analysis Center installation, integration and administration • netIQ knowledge script creation and customization • netIQ custom report creation • CA Spectrum and eHealth installation, integration, customization and administration • CA Spectrum and eHealth custom report creation • EMC SMARTS installation, integration, customization and administration • EMC SMARTS custom report creatio. • Integrated Research Prognosis IPTM installation, integration and administration • Integrated Research Prognosis IPTM custom report creation • Microsoft Server 2003 standard edition installation and administration • Recent versions of VMware ESX Server installation and administration • Recent version of Microsoft SQL server installation and administration, in clustered and non-clustered environments • Recent version of MySQL server installation and administration • Apache/Tomcat installation and administration, including reverse proxy, html rewrite and SSL module customization • Metadot and/or sharepoint portal server installation, administration and customization • Crystal Reports Server installation, administration and report creation Technical Skills required, exhibiting strong knowledge of most of the following: • CSS, HTML, XML, PHP, ASP, C#, JavaScript, VBScript, PERL and Windows or Unix or Cygwin shell scripting • SNMP (v1, v2c, v3) and ASN.1 • WMI scripting Must show familiarity with: • Syslog servers of various types (e.g. syslog, syslog-ng, Kiwi, splunk) • Various open-source network management tools (e.g. Nagios, Cacti, MRTG, RRDTool, JFFnms, OpenNMS, cricket, etc) Must be interested in learning: • Remedy ITSM 7.x administration • Remedy Enterprise Integration Engine (EIE) development • Remedy application development Prior experiences that are a plus: • Remedy 7.x administration, EIE or application development • Team lead or supervisory experience • Project management experience • Linux or Solaris server installation and administration.
