Job Responsibilities
• Ability to perform research and analysis of business requirements for current or planned systems to determine functional and data requirements • Ability to develop both logical and physical data models using an information engineering (IE) methodology, rules of data normalization, i.e., 3rd normal form • Ability to document findings in a clear and concise manner • Experience in establishing and following current naming standards • Ability to interpret and apply current standards and the ability to research and develop standards documentation • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work well within a team and with the users • Self-directed/self starter – individual who can work as part of a team or independently • Ability to follow standardized procedures • Knowledge and use of CA’s Erwin and Model Mart • Use of Data Modeling CASE tools - preference Cool:Gen Please note that due to the nature of the client’s work environment, all candidates will need to have an Interim Federal government Background Investigation (BI) successfully adjudicated before beginning work.
Experience/Qualifications Requirements
Additional abilities desired: • Facilitator/moderator experience • Datacom/DB • DB2 experience • Client/Server experience (preferably Oracle) Other complimentary skills: • Database administration experience with a relational DBMS - systems development or management experiences with large databases • Application development experience in an IBM MVS environment • Fundamental concept of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) • Fundamental concept of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Ability to interface with, and provide support for, multiple development, program management and user organizations
