Job Responsibilities • Develop and maintain operational databases. • Support the development of database projects to include needed resources. • Develop database backup and recovery processes and hardware. • Prepare and deliver presentations on database management systems (DBMS) concepts. Please note that due to the nature of the client’s work environment, all candidates will need to have an Interim Federal government Background Investigation (BI) successfully adjudicated before beginning work.
Experience/Qualifications Requirements • 5+ years Oracle DBA experience in a UNIX environment supporting production applications • 5+ years architectural/maintenance/tuning experience with large Oracle databases over 1TB in size supporting hundreds of users in 24/7 configuration • 5+ years experience maintaining large database objects • 5+ years experience with disk layout and physical tuning of large databases (1TB+) • 5+ years experience tuning large complex SQL queries using techniques other than optimizer hints and query rewrites • Proven leader that has a strong character able to take charge and make decisions when working with developers and system administrators • 5+ years experience recovering large production databases (1TB+) • 5+ years experience writing complex SQL*Plus and UNIX shell scripts • 5+ years experience with parallel DML/DDL • 5+ years experience installing/upgrading/maintaining Oracle software (Oracle 8i/9i) • 5+ years experience implementing Oracle 8i/9i new features • 2+ years hands-on experience with Oracle RMAN
