Job Responsibilities
The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Domain Architect is responsible for:
• Identifying, defining, modeling, harmonizing, and submitting NIEM namespace updates to government sponsor for new additions to NIEM
• Partnering with with the Subject-Matter-Experts (SMEs) in the understanding of the data components, their relevance to organization and their relationship to existing/future IEPDs.
• Working with the NIEM Project Manager in defining the Project Plan and developing a Project Schedule that aligns to the NIEM and government agency expectations/process for Domain harmonization.

Skills/Qualifications Requirements
• Ability to analyze and interpret multiple integrated data models to determine elements, definitions, classes and cross-references
• Ability to analyze, define and address data quality issues of duplication, conflicts, and consistency
• Ability to analyze data integrity and perform transformations to improve data structures (Refactoring)
• Ability to interpret and apply data governance guidelines, standards, and processes
• Ability to interpret and apply data naming standards
• Ability to interpret and update Project Schedules
• Knowledge of XML, UML, Object Oriented design methodologies
• Knowledge of NIEM policies and standards
• Ability to interact well with and coordinate decisions between business users and technical staff
• Ability to communicate effectively within technical discussions as a government representative
• Ability to understand and apply Version Management standards
